FAQs

What are your guidelines during the preparation process?

  • Research your property (utility locations, property lines established, municipality requirements, etc.)
  • Discuss plans with neighbors (if applicable)
  • Perform initial project review and walk through (if applicable; you may need to do this more than once if there is property preparation that needs to be done before installation)
  • Grading/terrain adjustment (if applicable)
  • Removal and disposal of existing fence/curbing (if applicable)
  • Other specific steps (e.g. moving sprinklers, concrete work, etc.,  if applicable)
  • Final clearance of fence line to enable crew/equipment access during installation
  • Installation walk through
  • Inspection and final walk through

What happens during a consultation?

Our knowledgeable contractors will bring a wealth of experience to each job and can help recommend fence styles, their benefits, and determine your particular fence requirements (security, privacy, aesthetics, ground/grade considerations, children and pet considerations, neighborhood and architectural considerations). Your satisfaction  is our priority. We will discuss your fence needs, share ideas and fence styles, and provide you with a detailed invoice and estimate for your review, after the walk-through.

What If I do not know where my property line is?

We highly recommend getting your property checked by a licensed land surveying company in Seattle before making the appointment. In the event that you do not know the exact placement of the property lines, we will consult with you on whether or not to build it. If for some reason it needs to be removed this is not included in the contract and will be at your own expense. Thank you for understanding!

Are you licensed and insured?

100% YES. Contractors are required to have workers compensation, general liability insurance, and property damage coverage. Do not do business with any unlicensed contractors. Hire the professionals at DH Land Pros!

How soon will the new fence be completed?

Once your job is scheduled, we can typically start installation of  your fence within one week and finish it within the week. Start to finish. Our scheduling times can vary seasonally and warmer months tend to have longer scheduling lead times. We make every effort to accommodate your schedules as best we can, so let us know if you have an important deadline you are trying to meet! We install fences YEAR ROUND! We strive to complete every project on time. Again, let us know if you have a deadline.

What will the supply and installation costs include?

They include the fencing boards or materials required to build  each panel (depends on material), fence posts, fence post tops, basic fencing materials, anchoring & concrete supplies, the removal of the old fence panels and fence posts, & any other costs needing to be added during the inspection walk through.

What is the breakdown for Fence Cost and Installation?

Supply Cost – This is the cost of the materials needed to construct the fence. The supply cost usually has all required materials to construct a working fence factored into it.

Installation Cost – This is the cost of installation for a particular fence type. The installation cost of the fence is something you will often find to be quite high, however due to laws, restrictions, regulations and the work involved it’s always worth employing the services of a qualified fence contractor.

Total Cost – This is the supply cost and installation cost added together to give a total project cost estimate for that particular fence type.

Cost Per Linear Foot – When you’re speaking with any fencing contractor, the measurements and quotes will often be given in linear feet
